You could or could not agree with President Obama’s policies on different matters. It doesn’t matter if you love him or hate him, but President Barack Obama offered something unique for America, the possibility of real change in something that you didn’t probably noticed, America didn’t elect a caucasian man as president.
Now, President Obama is looking for a presidential reelection and the race card is out of the question. We had a taste of his policies and leadership, and now we’re able to decide for him or someone different. Here are three reasons on why President Obama could still win the presidential reelection bid, even though he hasn’t kept all of his promises.
America is mostly inclined for second chances.
Most presidents in America’s history that looked for the presidential reelection got it. In modern America only George Bush and Jimmy Carter served one term. If you want, you could also include President John F. Kennedy who served less than one term because he was killed. America loves giving second chances, and sometimes Americans understand that one term is not enough to keep all the promises made during the first term in office. What do you think?
He improved our country’s image around the world.
Something that could also help Obama win the presidential reelection is the fact that we were able to elect a man from mixed race as president, and that completely changed the perspective of the world on this country. Most countries always looked at America as: “the white people’s country who looks down on other races”. That changed, and that’s probably one of the reasons most countries love Obama.
Remember how George W. Bush was completely ignored during his last days in office by other leaders of the world during important meetings? Remember how Obama was greeted with happiness by those same leaders after he took office? The man changed America’s image and that could work on his favor during the presidential reelection campaign.
Obama has kept some of his promises.
When campaigning Barack Obama made a lot of promises and somehow he manage to keep some of them. He passed a financial reform for Wall Street, he’s bringing back the troops from Afghanistan, and he also passed the Health Care Reform that was pretty much a jinx for the Democrats and that could also work against him. He also made some changes to the way things were running before, by repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell”.
Finally, the biggest ticket that could give him the chance for the presidential reelection is killing Osama Bin Laden. Even Craig Ferguson joked about it: “I think the next election just got a lot easier for President Obama ’cause his response to every question during the debates will be: ‘Wait, I forget…Did you kill Osama Bin Laden? Or did I kill Osama Bin Laden. Oh no, it was me, wasn’t it?'”
What do you think? Can Barack Obama reach a second term in office? Or America will deny him the presidential reelection?
